Start in 30 seconds

  1. New Session on the Just Read It home.
  2. Add your script — paste it, type it, or Upload a .docx / .txt.
  3. Copy Viewer Link and send it to your reader (or give them the 4-character session code).
  4. Play to start scrolling. Space pauses/resumes, R restarts, and the speed slider sets the pace.

Saving your script

Open / Save to your Google Drive as .docx, or Download locally. The script lives in your Drive — Frame only relays the live session.

Build the rundown

  1. Add a row per segment and set its Duration — Start and Finish compute automatically.
  2. Fill in the columns you need: Talent, Camera, Audio, Graphics, Script, Notes…
  3. Set a Show Start Time up top to anchor the whole show to the wall clock.

Run the show

Save your rundown as .xlsx to your Drive (grab the starter template from the toolbar). It's a normal spreadsheet — open it anywhere.

How it works

  1. Open a tool, type your text, pick colors and motion, and watch the live preview.
  2. Export a transparent WebM (or a DaVinci Resolve bundle) and drop it onto your timeline.
No sign-in needed to create and export. Sign in (free) to save your color palettes.

Matte exports — using Background in DaVinci Resolve.

Cue’s Background tool can render two extra passes alongside the normal color export. Both live as checkboxes on Background’s Canvas menu, mutually exclusive: toggle one on, hit Export, get the matte pass; toggle off, export again for the color version.

Designed Resolve-first. After Effects works the same way with Set Matte and Track Mattes. Premiere isn’t the priority — you’ll have a smoother time in Resolve or AE.

Luma matte → alpha cutout

Use the luma pass as an alpha mask for the whole shape field — compositing the shapes over any background.

  1. Render the color version. Toggle Luma Matte on, render again. You’ll have two files: background-export.webm (color) and a black-and-white matte.
  2. In Resolve’s Edit page, stack the color clip on V2 and the luma-matte clip on V3 above it.
  3. Set V3’s Composite Mode to Alpha (or right-click V2 → Alpha · Linked Mattes in Resolve 18+). V3 cuts V2 to the shape silhouettes.
  4. Drop your real background on V1 — the shapes now sit on top, transparent everywhere else.

Or in Fusion: load the color and matte clips as two MediaIns, pipe them into a MatteControl node (Garbage Matte input = matte loader). Clean alpha out the other side.

Depth matte → place text between layers in z-space

The depth pass exists for a specific compositing trick: put a title behind one shape but in front of another. Three discrete gray bands mean three clean keys.

  1. Render the color version. Toggle Depth Matte on, render again.
  2. Timeline layout (bottom to top): V1 color background · V2 your text · V3 depth matte.
  3. On V3, set Composite Mode → Luma Key (or use a Luma Keyer effect). Threshold around 180 — that isolates the nearest band (#e6e6e6) only.
  4. Now the near shapes punch through and cover your text on V2, while mid/far shapes stay behind it. Text is wedged in z-space.

To slot text between mid and near (instead of behind near), threshold around 100 — that keys both mid and near forward, leaving only the far band behind the text. Pick the threshold based on which two bands you want as “in front of” and “behind” the new element.

Depth matte → real parallax + DOF (Resolve Studio / Fusion)

If you have Resolve Studio, the depth pass also drives true z-aware effects.

  1. In Fusion, load the color and depth clips as MediaIns.
  2. Add a ChannelBooleans node: copy the depth clip’s luma channel into the color clip’s Z channel.
  3. Pipe the now-z-equipped color into a DepthBlur (or Defocus) node — focus distance follows depth, so the far shapes blur naturally.
  4. For parallax, drive a Transform or Displace node off the z-channel and animate camera movement — flat 2D becomes a layered dolly shot.
Three bands by design. Background’s shapes live in three speed-factor classes (slow / mid / fast), so the depth output has three clean tiers you can key against — not a noisy continuous gradient. Pick the band pair you want to wedge between and threshold there.

Nothing you create lives on our site. Frame holds your login and relays your live sessions — your scripts, rundowns, and exports save to your cloud (Google Drive today; OneDrive and Dropbox available) or download to your machine.
